Can a cash advance company arrest you ?
Looking For Cash Day Advance Loan Reports
I was just harrassed by these people saying that they were representing a cash advance company that gave me two loans through U.S. National Bank. One loan was 4years ago and the other was 3years ago. When I asked for them more information on the companies and how can I resolve the matter, they just told me if I don’t pay the $2200.00, they will send someone to arrest. I tried telling them I don’t have that amount of money to pay at one time and is there something else I can do to resolve this matter, they told me I will be arrested and hung up the phone. They wouldn’t even tell me the name of the company. They told they’re not going to tell me anything. I’ve never even heard of U.S. National Bank. I googled it, and nothing came up about any cash advances. Could someone please give me some advice?

They are breaking the law. They cannot arrest you.

Sounds like someone is trying to scam you out of money. I wouldn’t give anyone any information or money until you check your credit.

File a police report……if its not your loan someone needs to be held responsible…..

It sounds like a prank caller or someone who may be trying to get money out of you. If it happens again, I would report it to the police.

ya that’s a scam. they were probably hoping you’d give them a credit card number. anyone who is genuinely trying to collect money from you will always give out the name of the creditor and give you an address and phone numbers to send a check or money order to.
the phone company can get the phone records and see where that call originated from.

they can’t arrest you unless you lied on the application and they can prove it. then it would be fraud, but most of the time they don’t know you’re lying anyway, and can’t prove it. and THEY couldn’t arrest you then, the police would. short answer-no they cannot arrest you.

Jason L. is right. Only the police can arrest you. Also, in the U.S., you can’t go to prison just because you owe someone money. You can be sued and have your wages garnished, but you can’t be arrested and go to jail.
