CEBU CITY, Philippines - With tuition-free public elementary schools available, there’s no reason for a student not to be enrolled in June, an official said. With the opening of classes next week, fresh reminders were issued for public elementary schools not to collect unauthorized fees or demand “contributions” from parents. Last school year, the total population for elementary schools in the region reached 1,127,000 pupils. Mordeno said they are ready for the opening of classes on June 10, but he admitted that they are lacking at least 1,000 high school classrooms and 600 classrooms for elementary schools across the region. read more
